SUMMARY:Encounters with Privilege
DESCRIPTION:In this short workshop we will draw on tools from applied theatre and Nonviolent Communication to make sense of participants’ experiences of encounters with privilege.\n– Introduction & Warm-up to get the group connected and the creative juices pumping;\n– A short improvised play which is based on an interpretation of a participant’s experience with what they have understood as an encounter with privilege (which they voluntarily and generously share with the group);\n– A facilitated conversation where we draw inspiration from Nonviolent Communication to analyse what happened and edit the play by introducing new scenes, to take the story in different directions, and improvisationally and empathically explore our individual and collective responses;\n– We may do more than one play if time permits;\n– Closing discussion.\n[Workshop organised in frame of Time for Empathy 2021]\n \nWhen: 8 March 2021, 11:30-13:00 CET (Berlin time)\n[This workhop will be offered also on 11 March 2021 at 18:15]\nHow: ONLINE on ZOOM\nLanguage: English\nCost: FREE\n \nRegistration closed\n \nAbout the trainer:\nMatthew Rich-Tolsma\nMatthew is originally from South Africa and presently lives in the Netherlands.
