SUMMARY:Compassionate impact digestion: choosing generous narratives – Marco Bertaglia
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is inspired by the approach of ‘impact digestion’ developed by Miki Kashtan and others who are part of the Nonviolent Global Liberation Community.\nIn particular, we will focus on the role of what we tell ourselves about other people, which influences how we navigate conflicts and how compassionately we can connect with all parties involved in the conflict.\nThe main focus we will work on, based on each person’s experiences, will be ‘generous narratives’: consciously choosing the story I tell myself about the other person, with the specific intention of preserving their humanity, seeing their intentionality and nurturing the possibility of care. This approach invites us to choose such a narrative from a place within ourselves where we recognise the impact we have experienced – and want that it be recognised – in relation to what the other person has done or said, or has not done or said.\n[Workshop organised in the frame of Time for Empathy 2026]\nWhen: 3 March 2026, 18:15-19:45 CET (Berlin time)\nHow: ONLINE on ZOOM\nLanguage: English\nCost: Participating in the “Time for Empathy” sessions LIVE is, as always, free. However, if you would like to have access to the recordings, you are welcome to buy them – a special offer is available while registering for the event.\nPlease note that this session will not be recorded. \nRegistration: \nTo take part in this workshop, register for the “Time for Empathy” event here: https://www.empathiceurope.com/time-for-empathy/\nNOTE: Register only ONCE for the whole event and participate live in all “Time for Empathy” workshops organised between 1 and 8 March 2026.\nAbout the trainer:\nMarco Bertaglia has been practicing and teaching Nonviolent Communication for over 25 years. Trained directly with Marshall Rosenberg and certified by the Center for Nonviolent Communication, he works as a trainer, mediator, and facilitator of group processes. Marco supports individuals, couples, children, families, communities, ecovillages, and organizations, weaving together NVC, dialogic systems, and social transformation. Deeply inspired by the gift economy, he offers his work in a spirit of reciprocity and radical trust. His commitment to nonviolence is rooted in both lived practice and a vision of collective liberation, in line with the legacies of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.\n \n
