SUMMARY:Triggers as a Path of Growth: The Way of Initiation – Pierre Vigneron and Cori Liebhart
DESCRIPTION:The development of the psyche involves cultivating our ability to respond to the situations and experiences that arise in our daily lives. This ability to respond determines the relevance of the choices we make along our life path. These choices can be decisive, allowing us to follow paths of growth or stagnation. Reactivity is the flip side of this ability. To react keeps us stuck in patterns, what Buddhist psychology calls Samsara – a psychological state in which we do not create but reproduce, we do not choose but repeat, we are not free, we perpetuate.\nWhen we experience trauma, we are deprived of this capacity.\nRaising our level of consciousness then becomes a way to step out of these patterns, giving us the ability to put them in perspective and to alchemize their impact on us. This impact is always relative and relational. In other words, the way we experience what we experience also determines what we experience.\nBy developing our level of consciousness, we can transform triggers into opportunities for growth.\nThis is the theme we will explore together during this workshop.
