Empathic Way in Organizations: How to receive “difficult” messages and not to explode? – practice session
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” ― Viktor E. Frankl
– Are you struggling with anger, shame or guilt after you hear criticism from your colleague and/or leader and want to learn how to shift from it?
– Would you like to know how to regain your peace of mind after a stressful day or conversation at work?
– Do you want to learn how to self-regulate and support yourself and others in your workplace?
Responding to “difficult” messages such as criticism and blaming at work can be a challenge due to the strong emotions we may feel while and after hearing them. When we respond in a way we are not happy with we may experience shame or guilt afterwards. When withdrawing, we may be angry and nudge ourselves for not taking care of our boundaries.
The way we hear what others tell us has a huge impact on the way we respond. The way we respond has an impact on the way our relationships will look like.
During this session you will have an opportunity to learn:
– what you can do to lower the level of stress during or after charged with tension conversations, hearing criticism or receiving feedback you are not happy with,
– how to prepare yourself to give feedback not as a revenge on someone else,
– how to understand what you need and start taking care of your boundaries,
– why people act as they act and have more understanding in your team or with your colleagues.
