Empathy in ONGOING, daily, intensely painful situations: “do’s” and “don’t’s”

Empathy in ONGOING, daily, intensely painful situations: “do’s” and “don’t’s”

During this session, we will share how to listen with empathy in daily, intensely painful situations and what to do and what to not do.
Here are some examples of situations where we found these tips helpful:
*office bullying
*school bullying
*intimate partner violence
*ongoing grief for loss of a loved one
*loss of health/chronic illness
*cost of living crisis
*forced migration
*being affected by war(s)
*being affected by poverty, racism, other forms of discrimination etc –
Why with us? Between us, we have both an “INSIDER” perspective of where and which empathy helped in those situations and where and which empathy triggered more hurt or harm. We also have an “outsider” perspective of one-to-one and group support and training in those situations.
This session is for you if you already practise the basics of NVC, including empathy, and have some experiences where your empathy has not resonated with its recipient in the situations such as above. Also, if you have ever been in one of those intense situations and others’ empathy did not hit the spot for you, this session may help you develop more insight into what you need in those situations, So that if you wish to do so, you can request that which you need from those who support you in those situations.
