Parenting might bring us moments of awe and satisfaction, deep touching moments full of love… But, honestly… it can also bring us moments of frustration, anger and exhaustion… Or not?
Well, during this talk, we would like to look with honesty at parenting, relations between parents and their children, at how much power-over there is and if power-with is possible at all.
As Marshall Rosenberg said „Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly”, and parenting is something that is definitely worth doing, so let’s look at those moments that are done poorly with honesty and tenderness, holding the space of not knowing, space where we all might have visited once…

Joanna Berendt
Coach, NVC certified trainer and NVC mediator.
Credentialled by International Coach Federation, has over 1700 hours of experience. Works with leaders, teams and individuals. Since 2009 practicing Nonviolent Communication. Board Member of Foundation „Equante Fundacja Nowych Możliwości”. Specialized in unfolding human potential, building common understanding, improving communication and strengthening collaboration and supporting conflict resolution. As a mediator, she works with business and non-profit organizations, also with family-related situations. She is an author of books and publications that are inspired by coaching and NVC. She has initiated Postgraduated Studies in Nonviolent Communication in Poland.
Paulina Orbitowska-Fernandez
Trainer of empathic communication, coach, eduScrum trainer, teacher and ex Headmaster
I work with childrenparentsteachersbusiness and organizations supporting them through workshops, lectures or individually. I used to work at the university and in schools in Mexico City and Warsaw (Poland). I am graduated in Political Science from the University of Szczecin, Poland. Granted a scholarship to study at the University of Salamanca, Spain, I have finished postgraduated studies in Leadership in Education and Nonviolent Communication according to Marshall Rosenberg and Train the Trainer of Nonviolent Communication studies, at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland. Finished Business and Life Coaching at the School of Empathic Trainers in Warsaw. I have attended course given by Sarah Peyton “Facilitating systemic transformation through Nonviolent Communication, neurobiology, and 3d-mapping”.
