Navigating Conflict in Intercultural Relationships – Sam Odhiambo and Mareidi Pibernik
In our session “Navigating Conflict in Intercultural Relationships” we want to bring NVC awareness and awareness of cultural differences to how we approach tension and conflict.
We will look at the iceberg model of culture and reflect on how our backgrounds influence our behaviour and how we express feelings and needs.
With an awareness of feelings and needs, we can stay connected to our common humanity and find common ground no matter where we come from.

Most of the workshops during “Time for Empathy” are not recorded, so the only possibility to participate is to join the session. The sessions that will be recorded, we will make available to others if the quality is satisfying. We may also use parts of the recording for marketing and publicity across various media. Samuel Odhiambo is a certified NVC trainer from Kenya. I am passionate about exploring strategies for sustainable peace and development in communities.
I am currently learning the 3 x 3 Empathy Factors to bring NVC into teams and organizations.
Mareidi Pibernik
Mareidi Pibernik is a CNVC Certification Candidate from Austria. She is passionate about NVC in intercultural spaces and practical everyday empathy.
She is part of the NVC Rising Team, bringing together NVC learners from around the globe, and currently training to bring NVC to organizations with Marie Miyashiro’s 3×3 Empathy Factors.
