The Power of Presence – free webinar with Hugo Roele
Would you like to know what could make it easier for you to speak?
Would you like to be able to listen at a higher level and with more ease, even when you feel scared, angry or sad?
Presence is the first and most important step in listening.
If we are annoyed by the things a listener does, we won’t be able to speak about the more painful and scary parts of our lives. If we are distracted by ideas of solutions we won’t be able to listen at the level the speaker wants us to. And if during the conversation there is a sudden noise or the temperature in the room becomes very uncomfortable, both speaker and listener may find it difficult to continue the conversation.
Presence is the first step in the 6-step model, that I will explore in the online course “Listening with Needs”. In this webinar, you will be able to experience the power of presence. In 1,5 hours we will explore how you can:
– do a check-in to see if anything distracts you;
– explore the signals that the speaker or listener is no longer sufficiently present;
– explore strategies to raise the level of presence.
A 6-step model for listening:
2) Telling/repeating a story
3) Feelings and thoughts
5) nalysis and Strategies
How will we work?
The 6-step model for listening is complementary to the 4-step model for speaking of NVC. To make you experience its value we will try to use your examples or the examples of other participants. This webinar can be followed as a short course and lecture. At the same time, it will allow you to see, what the longer online course “Listening with Needs” may bring you.
Listen, listen, speak
“One of the biggest gifts we can give to others is ‘presence’ when others tell us what’s alive in them.”
