Children Learn What We Live: Building Empathy for their Feelings and Needs

Children Learn What We Live: Building Empathy for their Feelings and Needs

Can we use the superpower of compassion and connection to help us show up as the parents we want to be? Come learn about the NVC skills that help us build a relationship with our children where we can learn to be with their feelings and needs. If what we live is what our children learn, how can empathy serve us as parents?
This session will be interactive and is appropriate for anyone who interacts with children.

About the trainers:
Magdalena Kosinska-KlaehnMagdalena Kosinska-Klaehn, PhD
I am passionate about healing which I believe is possible for every human being. I accompany people on their healing journey so they can reach their inner wisdom by integrating the past they experienced and move toward life they desire with more warmth and ease. The relationships between parents and children are especially dear to my heart as I believe they are the foundation for a happy and peaceful life. My dream is to bring knowledge about children’s development and compassion to parents to break the cycle of a generational, punitive parenting and bring collaborative, nonviolent consciousness to the families. I am a NVC Certification Candidate, Healing focused Coach and Mediator, Certified Resonant Healing Practitioner, and Peaceful Parenting Instructor. I share my gifts in the form of workshops and one-on-one sessions. I created Empathically Empowered (https://www.facebook.com/empathicallyempowered) – a space where you can find inspiration and support in learning, healing and living compassionately. I have a few openings for 1-on-1 sessions. You can contact me via email magdalena@empathicallyempowered.com or phone: +1 562-336-6949.

I earned a doctorate in physical therapy at Western University and a master’s in healthcare administration. For 27 years, I was the executive director of Tichenor Clinic for Children, a nonprofit serving children with disabilities.
As a CNVC certified Trainer of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), I work with healthcare executives, individuals, families, and organizations supporting them through teaching NVC workshops or coaching individuals. With individuals, I offer resonance, creating a safe space where they feel understood and accompanied with warmth and care. With organizations, I focus on communication skills that build sustainable connection and trust in the workplace and in the community at large.
In 2022, I was elected to serve on the Center for Nonviolent Communication board, a global organization that supports the learning and sharing of NVC. I have taught NVC workshops with nonprofits focused on hospice, AIDS, and Autism. As part of the NVC Day One group, I offer presentations monthly online.
