This week Joachim Berggren will have a conversation with Petra Kumm about the need of Connection.
Petra Kumm has been involved in NVC since 2007. Petra has attended many seminars with numerous international trainers, including Kit Miller, Dominic Barter, Nada Ignatovic Savic, Marshall Rosenberg, Marianne Göthlin, Kelly Bryson, Arnina Kashtan and Robert Gonzales. Petra has been working in elementary schools for 20 years and made it her mission ten years ago to teach NVC to teachers. She has also developed a set of feelings and needs cards and a game board to enable beginners to practice (self-)empathy: the “Connection Game”.
Petra says: I chose connection as the need to talk about because it’s the core and the purpose of NVC for me. Dominic Barter said: “Connection is the thing without which nothing else will happen.” Connection makes communication and cooperation work. It’s the glue between people and the anchor in ourselves. I believe what Marshall called the beloved devine energy is when our hearts connect and we enter the field beyond right and wrong doing Rumi wrote about: “That’s where we meet!”
