Spectrum of Needs - Autistic and Empathic

Spectrum of Needs – Autistic and Empathic

Two weeks ago I finished my first-ever cycle of workshops on empathic communication for persons on the autism spectrum. It was called Spectrum of Needs and was possible thanks to the foundation Artonomia. I would like to tell the story of NVC building bridges and embracing diversity. I want to share my experiences of how it enriches and facilitates contact and understanding between neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals.
And most of all I would like to challenge the stereotype that people on the autism spectrum lack empathy.

About the trainer:
Joanna KawkaJoanna Kawka
Translator and interpreter, a philosopher by education and passion.  NVC appeared in my life 6 years ago, when I became a mother. I fell in love with its simplicity and universality. It opened for me a whole new world, it gave me new tools to understand the Other and stay with them in contact full of authenticity. I have attended a two-year course – where I took part in a number of workshops with certified NVC trainers – and I became a trainer of empathic communication, hoping for starting the certification path in the near future.
Two years ago I got my diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome.
