Empathy offers a window to another person’s heart. Yet, understanding it is one thing. Embodying it consistently is another.
How can we stay empathic in the moments that matter?
I’ll share my discoveries to this question, applying the lens of learning and habit formation to NVC. Then, we’ll explore experiential practices to enhance our capacity to listen with our hearts.
What this workshop offers:
– Clear steps to develop a habit of listening with empathy
– Guided self-reflection to cultivate inner clarity
– NVC-based practices to expand your empathic awareness
Most workshops during “Time for Empathy” are not recorded, so the only possibility of participating is to join the session. The sessions that will be recorded, we will make available to others if the quality is satisfying. We may also use parts of the recording for marketing and publicity across various media. If you do not wish to be recorded, switch off your camera and microphone for the whole duration of the session.
NOTE: Register only ONCE for the whole event and receive access to all “Time for Empathy” workshops organised between 2 and 9 March 2025.
About the trainer:
Vanessa West
For years, I searched for NVC without knowing it. I was baffled by conflict: How can sincere efforts at communication still lead to disputes? I devoured books on empathy and EQ, seeking answers.
When I discovered NVC, it was like lifting a veil. I began to see beyond conflict to universal common ground. I learned to listen to what’s in a person’s heart, instead of getting lost in their words. I learned to hear what’s alive within myself with much more clarity.
NVC has been so transformative for me that I feel inspired to share it with others. I’m in the process of transitioning from the field of chess (teaching, writing, and competing as a national master) to dedicating my time and efforts to NVC.
Drawing from my understanding of the learning process, I aim to help others find clarity and ease in applying NVC to real life. I’m currently taking a year-long training program on embodying and teaching NVC, and I’m working towards becoming a certified trainer.
