I want to fit in and still be true to myself – Leonardo Martin Portale and María Marta Suárez
We invite you to explore the impact that the strategies we use to belong (to a bond, a group, or a system) can have on us, our surroundings, and nature. Can we transform this? We believe it’s possible if we tap into authenticity.
Everyone, regardless of their amount of experience with NVC, is welcomed. We hope attendees will take with them stronger self-acceptance and more awareness of their freedom of choice.
Most of the workshops during “Time for Empathy” are not recorded, so the only possibility to participate is to join the session. The sessions that will be recorded, we will make available to others if the quality is satisfying. We may also use parts of the recording for marketing and publicity across various media. If you do not wish to be recorded, switch off your camera and microphone for the whole duration of the session.
NOTE: Register only ONCE for the whole event and receive access to all “Time for Empathy” workshops organised between 3 and 10 March 2024.
About the trainers:
Leonardo Martin Portale
I discovered NVC while searching for resources to improve my relationship with my teenage daughter. In love with the impact it had on our relationship, I decided to spread this message in all areas of my interest, offering workshops of Nonviolent Communication for parents, adolescents, and everyone interested in ethical non-monogamous relationships. I am also passionate about sharing this tool to mediate conflicts, facilitate dialogue processes and accompany individual development, both in person and online and in three languages: Spanish, and English.
María Marta Suárez
I am a licentiate in English Language and Applied Linguistics. Since I was introduced to Nonviolent Communication in 1996, I have been studying and sharing its principles in schools and language academies. Over the years, my focus has been on supporting teachers, parents, and students in transforming the traditional educational paradigm of right and wrong into one based on constructive feedback. In the last few years, as I have embraced a lifestyle within a permacultural community near Buenos Aires, Argentina, I have been offering online support through empathic coaching and NVC-based healing role-plays. Through this process, which I call “Talk to their heart through mine”, I help adults who speak English, Spanish or Portuguese, to have more tools to engage in difficult conversations.
