This week Joachim Berggren will have a conversation with Ivana Horáková about the need of Safety.
Ivana says: The reason I originally chose to talk about safety is that I find it is truly a basic underlying human need. With the current war in Ukraine and the loss of peace, this crucial need becomes even more palpable, as not feeling safe affects all of our functioning. Safety plays an important role in conflict, although it is often not expressed. Feeling safe enables us to open up, express our vulnerability and connect. The question for me is: how can we keep our ability to connect (to ourselves and others) even if our safety is under threat?
Ivana Horáková comes from Slovakia, is active in the Czech Republic and now based in the north of Germany, with her young daughter. She is a Nonviolent Communication trainer (CNVC), mediator and Somatic Experiencing® practitioner.
